Winter Training....

Posted by on Monday, December 13, 2004 (CST)

I hope all of you ar doing well over the holidays...
I find this time of the year the toughest when it comes to training...its cold, dark early, and other things need to be done...I have been waiting for snow to get out and train for the upcoming XC ski races/marathons but it does not seem to snow in the Twin Cities anymore...If anyone is looking for motivation ALARC puts on a training group at the Lindberg Center on Mondays and Wednesdays at 6pm , and Saturdays at 10 am for circuit training, that is aerobic, and weight training...its been a saving grace for me...keeping me from falling out of shape. Get out when you can, three days a  week can keep you in the game, and do whats possible...yesterday I found myself doing 21 flights of stairs in the Interchange building 9 times to get a workout in...Try to work in some workouts during the Holiday season and it should go a bit better...

Other Winter Options

There is a small group of us meeting Maplewood to run the Gateway Trail on Saturday mornings. Times aren't set in stone, as weather and life dictates what works, also since we're on the Gateway you can choose to run as much or little as you want. I know it's easier to get out there with a group of people and have some fun when training in the cold. If you want more information send me a message from the profile page!

Weekend long runs
By Connie on Tuesday, January 11, 2005 (CST)

Hi

I am interested in linking up with a group for long runs this winter.

I live in northern sub's of St. Paul.

Like about a 8:30-9:00 pace and friendly company.

What time do you hit the gateway trails?
